The crozier of St. Fillan represents the role of Mr. Dewar’s family as the hereditary guardians of the relics of St. Fillan, the abbot of a monastery in Fife, Scotland, which include the saint’s crozier (pastoral staff). The two croziers behind the shield are the insignia of the office of the Hereditary Keeper of the Crozier of St. Fillan. |
