During a life dedicated to community service, first in Windsor where he reorganized the St- Vincent-de-Paul Society and founded the Catholic Immigration Centre, then in Bramalea where he has been active in a variety of projects, he has become best-known as the founder of the St. Leonard's Society of Canada. What started as the continent's first home for ex-offenders has become a national organization of half-way houses providing shelter, assistance and counseling to help re-integrate former prisoners into society.
