    Commander (Retd) Robert James Williamson, Hamilton, Ont.
    Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

    For fifteen years, Commander Williamson has volunteered his time and talent to several historical associations. As a member of the Hamilton Board of Education Speaker's Bureau, he presents slide programs on the city's history to senior citizens groups and school children. He has written several publications on local history, the sales of which have raised funds for heritage projects. Commander Williamson is also a member of the Kaleidoscope Community Singers and St. George's Benevolent Society.
