Message from the Governor General on the Occasion of
International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination
OTTAWA— On this International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, I am proud to highlight Canada’s enduring commitment to tolerance and inclusivity.
We must continue to take action, every day, to combat all forms of injustice and racial discrimination. We can and we must do better. A country’s diversity adds to the richness of its society, leading to a better understanding of others. United in difference, we are so much stronger.
Let us take this opportunity to celebrate our achievements and find solutions to the many challenges that remain in our efforts to overcome racial discrimination. It is incumbent upon us to make our country a place for sharing and reflection, a place where everyone can live in harmony and respect.
